One last thing. Young Colin Firth was attractive. Present day Colin Firth is sexy as hell. I want Colin Firth. That is all.
Foxy
If you know me, you know I live in leggings and comfy tanks and shirts and such, its pretty much a college essential. I have been in love with Wildfox Couture for quite a long time, ever since I saw Taylor Swift wearing a sweater of theirs. Though I love this brand very much, I don't love their steep prices, I mean, 70 bucks for the lips tank?! I guess I will settle for Forever21 knockoffs.
The Selby
Its no secret that I love creepin' on people's lives, and home decor. Soooo, The Selby is pretty much the perfect website in the entire world. This site takes artistic people with interesting jobs, and shows us their homes, studios, and lives. The pictures are amazing and so fun. Here are a couple of my favorite.
$leaaaaaazzzyyy
Life ain't fair.
Women like this need to be put in prison for being too beautiful. Especially Mila Kunis. I would get Black Swan freaky with her any day of the week. I love awards season, like any other girl, because I love looking at gowns for hours. I cannot wait for the Oscars. Its just going to be weird not watching it with my mom this year, because its a tradition. :(
Runs in the Family
Sometimes I wonder why I am so strange, and then there are little things my father does that make me realize it is all his fault. A couple Christmases ago, I bought my dad a lovely squirrel shaped candle from Pottery Barn. He refuses to burn the squirrel, which is understandable. But now, every once in a while, I get strange picture text messages from him, showing the squirrel in compromising positions. Like this, for example which was sent with the caption " Squirrely got Bling." I think those are my mom's rings on squirrely's waxy little arms. So precious. I miss my family.
Not Feelin' It.
The end of this week into this weekend has been a weird one for me. I have not been feeling like myself. I turned down going out and getting my party on last night, and I am turning it down again tonight. I am hoping it is just stress for midterms with a little bit of homesickness mixed in. But I don't know. Tonight I have a hot date with my Macbook and season 3 of Gossip Girl. Oh, and I am also annoyed with a certain someone so much that I am contemplating murder.
Reason #294390 why I Love Portland
My good friend Brett took me on a hike to the top of the biggest hill ever to get an amazing view of Portland. I've never climbed so many stairs in my entire life, but it was well worth it. There are the most beautiful houses ever on the side of this giant hill, its my goal to live there one day. The picture of the house on the right, was gorgeous. It was so cute, with shutters and a wrap around porch. The house had the most amazing view of the entire city, I can only imagine what it was with a full view, not just with my creeper shot.
Lush!
Today I got my first Lush solid shampoo. BIG NEWS I KNOW. It is like, one of the only products I have not tried. But the most exciting news is that I am establishing a relationship with the Portland Lush employees, especially one. We literally chat about all the products and life in general every time I come in, his name is Topher. and he knows my name! and hopefully we will become best friends and he will refer me to whoever manages that store and all my dreams will come true! Today was a good day. I took a ton of pictures, which I will post later.
Treasure
I spend way too much time browsing Etsy for cute handmade things. This is my latest find, Gaby Burger Designs Jewlery. Its more earthy and less girly than I usually like, but I really want everything from her collection. Probs the Portland hippy blood in my veins.
Just your average Thursday...
Its nights like these that remind me of how much I love Portland. Obligatory Voodoo trip, getting harassed by 2304823 different homeless people, and ending the night at Backspace for some wonderful live music. I can't imagine not living in a city. Oh, and I think I fell in love with a man wearing a floor length fur coat and fedora. I'm not kidding.
This is what Portland looked like today, taken by my friend Jessie. So gorgeous.
Oh the Horror......
Trying to take a new profile picture on photo booth is the worst experience ever. Thanks to the flash, I seriously look like some sort of strange transvestite witch. Nightmarez.
Fre$h
I have a serious obsession with decorating my non existent Portland cottage. I've been looking at wallpaper for a while now, and I've decided that my house is going to be basically a giant art gallery of pattern and color. Whoever lives with me better be ready for craziness. Check out some wall papers here, http://www.studionommo.com/en/default.asp!
Favorite Time
Nothing beats being in bed, with no makeup on, natural hair, wearing comfy old flannel and drinking tea. My hair is finally starting to grow longish, which I am excited for. Tomorrow is Thursday, my favorite day of the week. Today was wonderful though. Besides classes, which were boring, I went to back to back zumba and yoga, which is the best fitness combination ever. Nothing feels better than shaking my ass like a fool for an hour then deep breathing and stretching in the dark for another hour. I also got to talk to a few people that I've been missing a lot lately, and that always puts my head in a better place. Pretty sure I will fall asleep listening to the new Cold War Kids album, its lovely.
Blowin' Glass
Head & Heart.
I was there! I was at that show! The Head & The Heart blew my mind, I couldn't believe how amazing they were live, and how I had never heard of them before. I bought their CD right away. The song really picks up around the 2 minute 15 second mark, please listen. They are going to be huge. I want this band to play at my wedding. But by then they will probably be huge and famous and playing the mainstage at Coachella.
Prints
I want to own all the prints by Ashley G and Drew from Etsy. Check em' out, the are awesome. I love all the muted colors and creepy people. I remember Mr. Miller, my favorite teacher of all time, saying "anyone can make art, the art is coming up with the idea before someone else." I feel like almost anyone could make these prints, they are so simple, but at the same time so creative and unique. And not to mention the artists are from Portland. All good things come from Portland, I am convinced.
Food Theif
Here's the recipe I will be using
http://jennysteffens.blogspot.com/2011/01/recipes-tomato-basil-soup-best-grilled.html
and hopefully the end product will look a little something like this :)
Reality
get a part time job now, that I will be able to make into a full time job for summer
find an apartment/roommate in Portland for the summer into sophomore year
stop freaking out and realize everything will happen for a reason
stop listening to Miley Cyrus
stop spending money on coffee and vitamin waters
yummm.
Hello beautiful shoes and dress. I want you on my body now. Probably not the same time, because it would be a bit matchy matchy, but wow. Vintage deliciousness. Add a pair of lace tights, red lipstick and you would be good to go. Shoes courtesy of Anthropologie, dress from ModCloth.com. And ladies, if you have not been to the beauty that is ModCloth, SHAME ON YOU.
Bro
Today is my little brother's 14th birthday. He is already nearly a foot taller than me, though thats not too hard. And I don't want to get too sentimental, but John is honestly one of the nicest, most genuine people I've ever met. I remember boys when I was 14, and they were all jerks. John however, always has something sweet to say about everyone, and is constantly helping others. He makes me laugh more than anyone, and I miss him so much. Happy Birthday Jolly John! I will see you soon!
Recipe for Disaster.
It is almost 4pm, and I am ready to go to bed and just forget about how this day is raping me. I woke up, went to my 10 am class, and pretty much got a contact high from the ugly stoner who sat directly next to me. Next, while trying to buy coffee, I realized my debit card was mysteriously GONE. Thank god I had cash, or else I would of pretty much died of embarrassment. I just had to go through the process of canceling my card, then having to actually go to my local bank location to change my address so I could get a new card sent to my dorm. The only good that came out of this is that I got to change the design on my card. In 5-7 business days my debit card will be a tie-dyed spending machine. Then, I had the horrible realization that I have concert tickets on will call at the Crystal Ballroom, which i would be able to receive with physical proof of the card that made the purchase. The card that is no longer, gone forever with a lovely homeless man. Wonderful So now I must go to the Ballroom and beg and plead to whoever, so I can turn around and sell them on Craigslist. On top of all of that bullshit, I have a major exam that I have to study for, an essay, and some sort of chart matrix thingy due at midnight. You better believe I am praying to little infant baby jesus right now.
Desire.
